Sacred Heart convent, Gumla was a felt need of the sisters at St. Alphonsa convent, Kapodih as it was far from the city having no transport facilities. Hence it was necessary to have a transit house at Gumla and we purchased a new house which was under construction at Deep Nagar in Gumla. After the completion of the building, blessing and inauguration was done on 14th of Dec. 2011. The main apostolate of the sisters here is education as two sisters are teaching in St. Patrick`s English Medium school run by Gumla diocese. Besides that sisters are engaged in teaching catechism, preparing children for receiving Sacraments, faith formation and family apostolate. The pioneers are Sr. Mini Maria, Sr. Jospheena, Sr. Anna Therese.
