The local people of Arnia, Jammu district which comes under Jammu - Srinagar diocese met then Rt. Rev. Dr. Hipolytus Kunnunkal, the bishop and expressed their strong desire to open a catholic English medium school in their locality. His Excellency initiated us to begin the school in Arnia which is only 5 k. m away from the Pakistan Boarder. St. Joseph Convent School was begun on 15th March 1997 in a room attached to the church building. At present the school has about 1150 students on roll. It has 36 staff members under whose leadership and constant care the students receive quality education, character formation and moral values which guide them towards the eternal truth. Rev. Sr. Litsy, Sr. Suma and Sr. Maria were the pioneers of this optional of excellence.
